Western Jamaica At-Large

LANDS re-established the Western Jamaica At-Large Unit in 2020 as one of the newest units. We hold our meetings on Telegram on the last Sunday of each month. Our discussions mainly focus on Jamaican citizens’ right to access land, working conditions in the hotel, service and BPO industries, and engaging communities in Western Jamaica.

Our unit began engaging communities in St. James, Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth in June 2020. However, we had to pause this project soon after because of COVID-19 restrictions. In September 2023, our unit completed a proposal for a similar project to be launched in LANDS’ other local units
